Look for big changes in the near future! We will shortly be embarking on the second phase of our major remodeling project. Construction Set to Begin
A new era for the Center is about to begin. We've very close to starting the second phase of our major remodeling project. It now looks like construction will begin in mid March. New carpeting throughout, new paint on the walls, new cushioned chairs to sit on, and a new concert/theatrical stage complex highlight the exciting changes coming to the Benton Civic Center. This will complement the already completed replacement of our heating and air conditioning systems to a new geothermal system designed to deliver major cost savings and help us keep the rental rates reasonable for our customers. Floor plan for the new addition to the Civic Center.
Of course due to all the dust we'll be closing the Center down for certain periods of time during construction in the months ahead. You can check our rental calendar for more details. And check back from time to time to see photos of the changes as they are happening.
The most exciting aspect of all this will be the concert and theatrical events we'll be able to bring to the greater Rend Lake area. In the months ahead look for a schedule of entertainment and start planning your dates to attend. We're working hard to make your civic center one of the top venues for banquets, meetings, shows and concerts in all of southern Illinois. Who knew we could be so flexible!
The Center is still serving the public until March
Our remodeling schedule has been a bit of a moving target but we're starting to narrow down the details. We thought we would be closed January and February but that's been changed. So the Center IS AVAILABLE for events during the first two months of the new year. Give us a call and mention that you saw this on our website for special pricing.
